This Valve Stem replaces the worn original in the original equipment location without shimming, drilling or adapters. The plating is applied over a phosphate base, which is the layer that actually stops corrosion creeping under the finish. A value-tier fitment for a sensible repair on an older vehicle, not a compromise on safety.
